This was the first of 4 EP’s that we put out. We were still progressing and did not want to get bogged down with producing a full record when our sound was still changing so quickly. This kept it fresh and easier overall. This was the first recording that my childhood friend Justin Parker played on. He was the final addition to Stage and it felt like this was it. He brought a new personal and musical life to the music and we were truly a band now.

Over the years “Ego” and “My Nubby Sweater” have turned into Stage Classics. Ego was written from being in college and ultimately getting smarter and being able to put my new knowledge into song. “My Nubby Sweater” was written about what I believed I was made of. Love, Music and God, each getting its own line in the song. It was also the first time my pain of first love came out in song. “The world will sing my anthem, and they will always hate you ‘cause I loved you…” It was the most personal collection of songs that we have written. “Lake Morey Inn” was our most punk song telling the story of young lovers skinny dipping. (Yes it is a real place in Vermont for all those who ask and I actually have the pictures to prove it). Our high school friend Lyle (from the band Jun) created the drawing of the face you see on the disc.
