Rock the Vote

When we were growing up, we heard all about how great our country is and we truly felt like we were the best. I think it is mostly due to being young, innocent, loving every day, and thinking your dad is the strongest man in the world. But we get older. We get informed. We learn Christopher Columbus didn’t discover anything except ways to exploit and damage what was once beautiful. Through this, Dad does still remain the strongest, of course.

Point? Here it is: I am not one to make political statements or take sides, but I know we have all felt deceived and let down from where we started years ago when we were kids, before we knew about the ills of society. A time like this makes us say “why?” and “it doesn’t matter?” and as much as I agree with this, there is something unspoken about inspiration. Inspiration makes things happen. From music to art to a speech or even an idea, these are the things that make change. Martin Luther King Jr. never created a law. He gave some speeches, some words to people to make of it what they wanted. What they wanted, not him, is what made the change.

However you feel about a candidate, I urge you all to vote for this reason: so these fuckers know we are all out there and have not been silenced because of their disrespect for what is pure in this world. We are strong and we need to let them know, by showing up in incredible numbers 30 days from now.

You have to be registered by THIS MONDAY, so just do it!

There is no mystery who will win New York, but I will still be out there to show that we are alive and paying attention. Everyone should do the same.

Thats all. I’ll step down from the soap box now and get back to rehearsals.

Have a great day!

Thanks so much for saying something about this today, Ryan. I am passionate about casting my vote for all the reasons you give. I also believe that it’s my responsibility to cast an educated vote in every election as an adult citizen of this great country. I refuse to buy in to the line that my vote doesn’t count and therefore I should not cast it.

To me my vote is a “use it or lose it” trust. We have three branches of government and every citizen has a part to play in that government. This is our part as adult citizens of the United States. We don’t get to do it very often.

If you say “it doesn’t matter” and refuse to vote on those grounds, then you are participating in a self-fulfilling prophecy. You are making your vote NOT count. Stand up and insist that it DOES matter. That you are here and you demand your voice be heard.

Ryan - I love you! You inspire me and I am registered and WILL be voting. Nebraska is normally a red state but I’m hoping to show a lot of blue this election…..

Totally agree with you my friend…. Thank you for your wisdom as always…

Let us remember that their are 7 candidates running for the office of corporate USA President. The “others” are more than capable of defeating the INSANE, war / global tyrannical candidates, propped up for us to “choose” from via the demopublican parties. Think about their absence while watching the next debate. Did you notice that the hand-selected candidates do not provide an option of NO WAR.

Look within and believe in YOU. The killing of life, all life, has got to stop. Did you notice that the military industrial complex just received another 450 billion from con-gress while they we’re rapidly reviewing the 700B bailout? Not a peep heard on the news. Donald Rumsfeld stood before the American people, on Sept. 10th, 2001 and stated that the pentagon CANNOT account for 2.3 Trillion dollars.

Me, I’m voting for old Ralph.

We HAVE GOT to recognize our own value. How loved we ALL are and how loving we are capable of being.

    Thanks Ry. Beautiful.

KILL your TV if you need to vent. Respect LIFE.
It’s more than time to stand up and be heard.

    Thank you, Stoney!

Unfortunately I am having to fight some serious cynacism about getting out to vote.
Everyone has to do what they feel is right, but I can’t in good conscience cast a vote for Democrat or Republican.

So, if I vote it will be for another candidate…I am still debating

Unfortunately, the agenda is to promote New World Order no matter who gets in.

BTW…they know we’re here. They can read your license plate on the car in your driveway from a satellite.

My advice for the moment: Build strength in the inner man…a house built on a rock will stand even when the Wall Street sand castles have washed out to sea.
