Hey Ryan…It’s ABOUT time you come back to SU! Or atleast some place in NYS that isn’t NYC lol. Altho I don’t live in SU anymore, luckily I only moved about 1 hour north, so you KNOW I’m gonna be there. I’ll send you a myspace/facebook msg too, so maybe we can get together or something depending on what your plans are. It’s gonna be really amazing seeing you yet again after so long…and back in my home town, so close to where it all started so long ago for me

BTW, we got some great pics and vids, so they will prob get posted on Myspace tommorrow, but I just wanted to say thanks for yet another amazing experience! (before I crash to sleep that is haha)

A story about Saturday night at the fair with Ryan…
I got a phone call last tuesday with my friend jen basically screaming that Ryan Star would be at the fair on Saturday and Dan was available to babysit and …. she went on and on and on. I knew immediately I would attend the fair that Saturday and I did.
Jen and I sat in the front row. Not giving up our seats, we sent our husbands for beers and food. Jen and I eagerly sat like school girls waiting trying not to look like idiots! We watched the first band and then Ryan just walked by with his backpack calm and collected. We were so impressed… star struck I guess.
After waiting what seemed like a long time, our husbands returned and the show began after sound check, etc. I was captivated by Ryan’s piano playing and stunned by the song lyrics as he played. Ryan played one of my favorites, Last Train Home and I was so giddy since the words reminded me of my Tom. I leaned over and told my husband that he is “my last train home.” And he is.
Ryan’s songs are beautifully written and his voice reveals an amazingly smooth velvety sound. Ryan’s voice strums along rising and falling through the notes of the songs keeping my gaze fixed while a gentle smile floats across my face.
Although Ryan is certainly a looker and very kind, my favorite part was when Ryan performed his deeply spirited love songs. I felt a powerful connection with my husband as the lyrics seemed to be written about us. There is no better music than that which connects you to your life and loved ones. Thanks Ryan.
So the show was perfect.. funny, romantic, calm, frantic, peaceful, loving, passionate and soothing. My husband liked the concert and I got to give Ryan a close squeeze (Also very nice…)while the night was captured in a photo.
I am so happy Jen introduced me to Ryan Star at the Rockwood in NYC and that the stars aligned so that one Saturday night in August, I could sit dreamily in the front row next my “last train home” dear husband while drinking up a true heart and soul performance.
Ryan Star was outstanding and I am very glad that his voice was the soundtrack of our night.
