Funeral in a Wedding Suit
Thursday, July 24th, 2008I know some of you have been seeing press releases online about this and, as much as I was dealing with it privately, I feel I should address it for those who wanted to know.
I was in Jamaica getting ready to celebrate my best friend’s wedding when I received the phone call. My friend and manager of many years had passed away. I, for the time being, do not have many words to say about it except that he will be missed on so many levels. He was a dear friend who believed in me becoming what I have dreamed about for as long as I can remember and was going to continue to do everything in his power to see that dream come true.
He will be missed, but what he stood for in life will live on and I am honored and proud to be one of those things.
You can read a well-versed blog about Stu Sobol and the ceremony here. Thank you for your warm wishes.

Cover Me
Monday, July 21st, 2008Don’t know who he is or where he is from, but music connects us and it is by far the best cover I have heard of mine. Thank you, stranger.
See his video on YouTube here.

Movie Music
Thursday, July 10th, 2008I added a new youtube playlist called MOVIE MUSIC - it will be for fan generated videos that I approve. This one starts with someone who made an action flick and used an old song of my band, Stage. The song is called “Ego” and I wrote it when I was 18 while studying cultural anthropology at the University and wasn’t afraid to write about it.
Click for all rstar playlists here.
Click here for more on cultural anthropology - Can you imagine Paris Hilton entering womenhood as an Apache? Very far from “My Super Sweet 16.”
Chaos in the Park
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008For you old schoolers, that was the title of a ‘Stage’ track from when we were 16. It actually landed us the opening slot for a Bon Jovi show. Yeah, that’s right, Bon Jovi!
Today it was far from chaos. Just a beautiful day in Central Park. Could be a Gatorade ad, I know.
Enjoy the day!

America
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008A pure song that will not appear on the album. This song has no friends. It is a loner. It speaks its message and leaves. Does not hate anyone or love anyone. It just is itself from start to finish.
I am posting it for just a day or two on my MySpace profile to thank you all for being patient with me. I can’t wait to see you all. When I hear you request this one, I will have known you were with me since the beginning.
For those who celebrate, have an incredible and safe July 4th weekend. That goes double for those who have legalized fireworks in their states.
See you soon,
Love,
Ryan

DON’T BE FOOLED BY CHEAP IMITATIONS!!
Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008It’s been brought to my attention that my stunt double is the new face of the US Air Guitar Championships in Brooklyn next week.
